Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Decomposition started at the temperature reported (120 °C) and no boiling point could be determined.

In a preliminary test, melting was observed at about 104 °C. After the experiment, the sample had lost 65.1% of its mass. The sample was black, foamed and carbonized.

A DSC main test run was recorded in the temperature range from 25 °C and 400 °C (heating rate 10 °C/min) which confirmed the results obtained during the preliminary test. During this run, a first endothermic was observed at 81.3 °C (melting) and a second endothermic peak was observed starting at 207.0 °C. After the experiment, a black, foamed and carbonized residue remained and the sample lost about 70.0% of its mass.

To confirm the results of the DSC-runs more precisely, a visual test was performed. During this the lyophilized test item started foaming and emitting some gas at about 120 °C. In the following the volume of the foam expanded while getting darker. At 140 °C a black residue remained. Therefore and due to the fact that foaming starts very close to the melting temperature of the lyophilized test item this process is most likely caused by decomposition of one or several components of the lyophilized test item.
