Description of key information

Pure EPTAC is a highly flammable solid (but not placed on the market as such).
Aqueous solutions up to 75% are not flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
highly flammable

Additional information

Testing according to EC A10 method, similar to UN N1 (without wetted zone), under GLP.

Method not specified for flash point measurement.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the burning rate of <45 sec., the substance as a solid fulfills criteria for classification as highly flammable (R11) according to Directive 67/458/EEC (DSD), and as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria, but hazard category could not be assigned.

Based on the flash point >60°C, aqueous solutions up to 75% do not fulfill criteria for classification as flammable liquid according to Directive 67/458/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria.
