Equipment:
An oven with a quartz intern wall ((Ø = 36,5 mm; H = 220 mm), which can go up to the rnaximum ternperature of 600°C, and a dispersion device
constitute the equipment.
The oven is controlled by a thermocouple placed in the quartz tube wall with a temperature regulator.
The powder dispersion device is constituted by a container in which he sample is placed, a pressure reducer, a small device with a manometer and
the fluid to disperse (air or oxygen-nitrogen mixture) and one electrovalve.
The reducer regulates the optimum deposit pressurisation value and when the experiment takes place the electrovalve opening is controlled to
obtained, with the gassy fluid flow, the powder transport and consequent powder dispersion in the oven (the powder placed in the container)

Procedure:
Approximately 100mg of the powder to examine are placed in the container, if possible with a particle size less than 75mm; when the oven
temperature is near the desired value, the powder dispersion in the oven, putting on the electrovalve, is done.
The electrovalve opening allow the small deposit of gassy fluid, previously stored at the pressure value (0, 1 - 2 bar) appropriate for the powder
typology, to flow.
The dispersion production can be observed by a mirror placed inside the reactor, if there is no phenomenon visible the test will be repeated at
superior temperature, from 10°C to 10°C. Otherwise if the powder cloud ignition is manifested, the test will be repeated at inferior temperature, from 10°C to 10°C, until reach the minimum ignition temperature.
More tests are done, varying the powder quantity used, as weil as the deposit fluid pressure, with the target of determine the minimum temperature at which the ignition of the cloud takes place.
lt is assumed as ignition temperature in cloud of the sample to exam, the minimum oven temperature value which result is positive and minor than
10°C.

Conclusions:
The dust cloud ignition temperature is moderately high, because this, furthermore to avoid the dust cloud formation, you must avoid to hand it near to surfaces at this temperature
