Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The melting/freezing temperature of the test item has been determined to be 176 ± 0.5 °C (449 ± 0.5 K).
Executive summary:

The determination was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

The temperature accuracy of the DSC was assessed using an indium reference standard (purity*: 100 %) * value quoted by supplier. The melting temperature was determined to be 156.73 ºC and within the defined tolerance (156.6 ± 0.5 ºC). The DSC was therefore considered acceptable for use.

Conclusion

The melting/freezing temperature of the test item has been determined to be 176 ± 0.5 °C (449 ± 0.5 K).
