First-aid measures
INHALATION
If symptoms arise from inhalation of gas oil vapour or aerosol, remove the casualty to fresh air taking all appropriate steps, possibly including the use of breathing apparatus, to avoid exposing rescuers to a contaminated atmosphere. Precautions should also be taken to avoid aggravation of any existing injuries.
Keep the casualty warm and at rest. If unconscious, place in the recovery position and give oxygen, if available. Monitor breathing and pulse. If necessary, assist breathing, preferably by an exhaled air method. Give external cardiac massage, ifnecessary.
Obtain medical assistance urgently.
INGESTION
The diagnosis of ingestion of gas oil, is by the characteristic smell of the product on the breath. If gas oil has been ingested, do not give anything by mouth and do notinduce vomiting.
If the victim is unconscious, place in the recovery position and protect the airway if vomiting begins. (Note: Spontaneous vomiting is a likely consequence of ingestionand carries the risk of aspiration).
Obtain medical assistance urgently.
ASPIRATION
If there is any suspicion that aspiration of even a small amount of gas oil into the lungs has occurred, either directly, or as a result of vomiting after ingestion, obtainmedical assistance immediately. Observe breathing and assist if necessary. Give oxygen if available.
SKIN CONTACT
Where significant skin contact has occurred, wash affected areas thoroughly with water, using soap if available. Contaminated clothing should be removed as soon as possible, and affected skin areas washed thoroughly.
If irritation occurs and persists, obtain medical advice.
(Note: Contaminated clothing should be dry-cleaned and laundered before re-use. Badly contaminated footwear should be discarded).
EYE CONTACT
If the eyes have been affected they should be flushed gently with copious amounts of cold water for up to 10 minutes. If irritation develops and persists, obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, extinguishing powder or foam and water spray
Extinguishing agents unsuitable for safety reasons: Full water jet
Special hazards caused by the substance, its combustion products or flue gases:
Can form explosive mixture of gas and air. Formation of toxic gases in case of fire. In case of incomplete combustion, carbon monoxide is released.
Protective equipment:
Wear self contained breathing apparatus in case of fire of great magnitude or oxygen-deficient areas.
Wear full protective clothing, in case of fire of great magnitude.
Respiratory protective mask in case of fire in small amounts.
Special procedures of fire fighting:
Apply water fog or water spray to cool fire exposed surfaces and to protect personnel.
Only personnel trained in firefighting must use fire hoses.
For fire fighting personnel and exposed to gases at high temperatures requires respiratory and eye protection, gloves and heat-resistant suit.
Additional information:
Cool endangered containers with water spray.
Prevent and control the spill if safe.
Keep people involved in the operation away from the containers and the side where the wind blows.
Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of according to regulations and in accordance with the Environmental Management System implemented.
Accidental release measures
Preventive measures for persons:
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
Eliminate ignition sources and ensure adequate ventilation.
Evacuate all unnecessary personnel.
If the exposure will be brief or low pollution use respiratory filter device. For a more intense or longer duration, using a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Wear a suit, gloves and protective footwear.
Use goggles or face shield when projections are predictable product.
Take measures against static discharges.
Use explosion proof equipment.
Measures for environmental protection:
Prevent and control the spill if safe.
In case of spillage on the road to warn the authorities.
Spills on the ground:
Remove sources of ignition.
Cut the source to the normal safety precautions.
Prevent seepage into sewage system, in pits or cellars.
Notify appropriate authorities if released into the underground and / or vegetation.
Take steps to ensure that there is a minimum condition on the groundwater.
Remove from surface with suitable absorbents.
Cleaning and decontamination procedures:
For small spills, remove with absorbent material such as sand, earth or sawdust.
In case of large spills, remove the product by pumping (using explosion proof equipment).
Pour into appropriate recovery tanks or disposable.
Dispose contaminated material as waste

Handling
Instructions for safe handling:
Ensure good ventilation in the workplace.
Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Avoid inhaling fumes.
Do not eat or drink when handling.
Exposure control / personal protection.
Temperature loading / unloading: Room temperature 40 º Maxine
Preventing fires and explosions:
Keep away from ignition sources. No smoking.
Protect against electrostatic charges.
Use explosion proof equipment.
Storage
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:
The product should be stored in cool and adequately ventilated.
Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.
The packaging material must be resistant to hydrocarbons.
Storage temperature: ambient to 40 º.
Standards for storage:
Reacts with strong oxidants
Further information about storage conditions:
Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Do not use compressed air for operation of emptying the containers.
Do not enter storage tanks without them have been previously ventilated and using appropriate protective equipment. Check the explosiveness of the atmosphere.
Beware of empty containers since they may contain product residues.
