For the test substance 3 -chloro-o-toluidine no data on reproduction toxicity are available.

Data from structurally similar substance 5 -chloro-o-toluidine (CAS 95 -79 -4) is available. However, since only limited information for these data are available, they are considered insufficient for a reliable evaluation of the reproduction toxicity potential of 3 -chloro-o-toluidine, and thus, for classification purpose. Nevertheless, these data will be presented shortly below.

CAS 95 -79 -4: 5 -chloro-o-toluidine was applied intraperitoneally to groups of 5 male mice daily on five consecutive days (Topham, 1980). The substance was diluted in corn oil and was applied at following doses: 50, 100, 250, and 500 mg/kg bw/day. The highest dose was found to be lethal. In the remaining dose groups, five weeks after last application the sperms were analyzed with the focus on abnorm sperm heads. 5 -choro-o-toluidin did not induce a higher number of abnormal sperms.
