Description of key information

it can be concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that TOWREX NU 500 is not capable of causing fire or enhancing the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

TOWREX NU 500 contains oxygen, which is chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen. Therefore the classification procedure using experimental testing need not be applied.

Additionally, it can be stated that the oxygen balance of TOWREX NU 500 is negative as calculated based on the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Applying the internationally recognized UN Recommendation criteria, TOWREX NU 500 is found to be non-oxidizing and therefore is not to be tested experimentally for the classification under division 5.1 as oxidizing substances.
