Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

ANy exposure is out of approval for this substance and woudl warrant assessment by medical team: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. If conscious, ensure the casualty sits or lies down. Consult a doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Alcohol or polymer foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide. Use water spray to cool containers.

Exposure hazards: In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide. / In combustion emits toxic fumes of sulphur oxides.

Advice for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact

with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Refer to section 8 of SDS for personal protection details. Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to       unauthorised personnel.

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spillage using bunding.

Clean-up procedures: Do not use equipment in clean-up procedure which may produce sparks. Absorb into dry earth or sand. Transfer to a               closable, labelled salvage container for disposal by an appropriate method.

Handling and storage

Handling requirements: Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area. Use non-sparking tools.      Earth any equipment used in handling. Avoid direct contact with the substance as there should be no exposure- contact under SCC

Storage conditions: Store in cool, well ventilated area. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid incompatible materials  and conditions.

Engineering measures: Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area. Ensure lighting and electrical equipment are not a source of ignition.

Respiratory protection: Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available in case of emergency.

Hand protection: PVC gloves. / Rubber gloves.

Eye protection: Safety goggles. Ensure eye bath is to hand.

Skin protection: Apron. Boots.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Stable under recommended transport or storage conditions.

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

Hazardous reactions: Decomposition may occur on exposure to conditions or materials listed below.

Conditions to avoid: Heat. Sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid: Acids. Strong oxidising agents.

Hazardous  decomposition products: Slowly decomposes to Carbon disulphide(CS2). Contact with acids liberates Carbon disulphide(CS2). In             combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.  In combustion emits toxic fumes of sulphur oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste is incinerated in lean stream on site.
