Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption of the read across substance THPS to organic carbon in soils and sediments with 0.17 - 1.1% organic carbon was determined to be in the range 72 - 266 indicating medium to high mobility in soils and sediments.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
266

Additional information

The read across approach for THPC with THPS is considered applicable, as the organic phosphonium cation is the same for both salts. The different anions (chlorid and sulfat) have no great influence on the solubility (both very high), the vapour pressure (both extrem low), and the log Kow (both extrem low and negativ).

Furthermore, the calculated log Kow values of THPS (log Kow = -20.4) and THPC (log Kow = -9.8) are both very low.
