Description of key information
Photolysis of THPS showed an almost complete conversion to THPO within 2 hours both in freshwater and in synthetic seawater with maximum conversion at environmentally relevant pH.

Laboratory experiments with photolysis by UV of aqueous solutions of THPS (20 mg/L) showed an almost complete conversion to THPO within 2 hours both in freshwater and in synthetic seawater with maximum conversion at environmentally relevant pH.
Exposure to natural sunlight of an aqueous THPS solution of unknown concentration showed high conversion levels (not quantified) over a 3-month period.
