In the key study (Sárvári, 2012a) the melting point of the test material was determined using the capillary method under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 102 and EU Method A.1. Accordingly the study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in line with the principles set forth by Klimisch (1997).

Three capillaries containing the test material were placed into a digital melting point device, the block was heated from 195 °C to 220 °C at a 0.5 °C/min heating rate. The transformations of the test material were observed visually through the magnifying glass. Three parallel experiments were carried out and in each case three parallel samples were measured. The mean of the measured temperatures was determined.

Under the conditions of the study, the melting point was determined to be 201.9 ± 0.23 °C, equivalent to 475.1 K.
