- Executive summary:
In (Jonker, Suijkerbuijk et al. 2009) study five different types (on the basis of their particle sizes) of powered activated carbon (AC) were examined for their toxicity effects (immobilization) on D. magna. The LC50values for all the tested types of activated charcoal ranged between 500 – 4000 mg/L, indicating that the activated charcoal exhibits low toxicity to Daphnia magna.
