Description of key information

The biodegradability of charcoal was tested according to OECD guideline No. 301B and OECD guideline No. 301F on different samples of charcoal (Probe 2 with C-Fix 80.5% and the sample 2445 with C-Fix 78.55% accordingly). Both tests shos that the substance is not readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
