Administrative data

First-aid measures

In contact with skin:  Remove all contaminated clothes and footwear immediately unless stuck to skin.  Drench the affected skin with running water for 10 minutes or longer if substance is still on skin. Consult a doctor.

In contact with eyes:  Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes. Consult a doctor.

If ingested:  Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give half a litre of water to drink immediately. Consult a doctor.

If inhaled:  Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. Consult a doctor.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media for the surrounding fire should be used.

Accidental release measures

Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorised personnel.  Do not discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spillage using bunding.  Absorb into dry earth or sand. Transfer to a closable, labelled salvage container for disposal by an appropriate method.

Handling and storage

Store in cool, well ventilated area.  

Avoid direct contact with the substance. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area.

Do not handle in a confined space. Avoid the formation or spread of mists in the air.

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Article 18(4), for Transported Isolated Intermediates.  Documentation to support safe handing arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based magements systems is avaiable at each manufacturing site.  Written confirmation of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from downstream users of the registrants intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area.

Respiratory protection: Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available in case of emergency.

Hand protection: Impermeable gloves.

Eye protection: Safety glasses. Ensure eye bath is to hand.

Skin protection: Impermeable protective clothing.
