Description of key information

In two skin irritation studies in rabbits conducted according to or similar to the OECD guideline 404, the substance was found to be not irritating or moderately irritating but is not classified according to the criteria of Annex VI to the Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP Regulation (EC) N° (1272-2008).
No data are available for eye irritation but the substance is a strong acid (pH<2.0).

Additional information

In two skin irritation studies in rabbits, the substance was found to be not irritating or moderately irritating but is not classified according to the criteria of Annex VI to the Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP Regulation (EC) N° (1272-2008).

No data are available for eye irritation but the substance is a strong acid (pH<2.0) and the acid reserve is 14 g NaOH/100 g of substance (see file attached), which could lead to serious damages to the eyes. Therefore, the substance is classified as risk of serious damage to eyes (R41) according to the Directive 67/548/EEC and causes serious eye damage (H318) according to the CLP Regulation (EC) N° (1272-2008).

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: highly irritating

Effect level: empty Endpoint conclusion: Adverse effect observed
