Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The melting point of RHODIMET AT-88 is not observed in the -60 to 20°C temperature range.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A preliminary test has been performed as to evaluate the feasibility of the measurement for the melting point by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). For the melting point, the test item has been cooled down to -60°C under controlled rate and heated with a rate of 2°C/min. Around 5 mg of sample was introduced in a crucible and placed in a calorimetric apparatus at atmospheric pressure. The crucibles used were in Aluminium with a volume of 100 µl.

The heat flux record shows that there is no change of the physical state of the test item between -60 and 0°C. At 0°C, a small thermal phenomenon is observed and is relative to the water solid-liquid transition. Any solid-liquid transition of the sample is observed down to -60°C.

The melting point of RHODIMET AT-88 is not observed in the -60 to 20°C temperature range.
