Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A bioconcentration study for B508 was performed in carp. Following a 60 day uptake period, steady state BCFs could be determined for a total of four different peaks (1, 2, 3 and 5), observed in the LC-MS chromatogram. The highest BCF values were determine for peak 5 (i. e. hydrogenated rosins): 584 at exposure concentration 1.5 µg/L and 545 at exposure concentration 15 µg/L.
The BCF study was carried out according to OECD (305) and GLP guidelines. However, a depuration phase was required since the estimated BCFs were higher than 10 for most of the peaks. As the depuration phase was not performed, the study is classified as reliable with restrictions.

Additional information

The BCF value of 584 at exposure concentration of 1.5 µg/L of peak 5 (i.e. hydrogenated rosins) was taken as a worst case value.
