Additional information

In a valid, reliable and conclusive study, the influence of the test item Reaction mass of CXN1-55 on the growth of the freshwater green algal species Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was investigated in a 72-hour static test according to the OECD Guideline 201 (2006) and the Commission Regulation (EC) No 761/2009, C.3.

The nominal concentrations of the test item of 3.125, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L were tested in parallel with a control.

The measured concentrations of Reaction mass of CXN1-55 in the test media of the test concentrations 6.25 to 100 mg/L were between 111 and 118 % of the nominal values at the start and at the end of the test. Thus, the correct dosing of the test item Reaction mass of CXN1-55 was confirmed. The test item was stable in the test media over the test period of 72 hours. The biological results were related to the nominal concentrations of the test item.

The biological results (based on nominal concentrations) of the study were as follows:

Parameter Growth rate Yield
(0-72 h)
EC50  [mg/L] >100 48
95% confidence interval n.d 43-53
EC20  [mg/L] 97 15
95% confidence interval 89->100 12 -17
EC10  [mg/L] 39 8.1
95% confidence interval 35-43 6.3-10
NOEC [mg/L] 6.25 6.25
LOEC [mg/L] 12.5 12.5
