A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The Syracuse Research Coperation, Physical Properties Database reports the vapour pressure to be 0.31 hPa at 20 °C. The GESTIS database reports the vapour pressure to be 1,7 hPa at 50°C and the IPCS International Programme on Chemical Safety reports the vapour pressure to be 0,4 hpa at 25°C. Three independent literature sources report the density in the same range.

A BASF study reported the vapour pressure to be 0.27 hPa at 20°C. Thus a vapour presure of 0.27 hPa at 20°C is regarded to be reliable for 2 -chlorobenzaldehyde.
