Principles of method if other than guideline:
Principles of Measurement: Based on Mie scattering theory
The apparatus uses laser light with a wavelength of 750 nm to size particles with diameters from 0.04 μm to 2000 μm by light diffraction. The laser's radiation passes through a spatial filter and projection lens to form a beam of light. The beam passes through the sample cell where particles suspended in liquid or air scatter the incident light in characteristic patterns which depend on their sizes. Fourier optics collect the diffracted light and focus it onto three sets of detectors, one for the low-angle scattering, the second for mid-angle scattering, and the third for high angle scattering.

Executive summary:

The particle size distribution of the test substance has been determined by laser diffraction (non-GLP, 2015) and the following results have been obtained for the sample tested:

 Particle size < 100 µm [%]  ~ 69
 Particle size < 10 µm [%] ~ 5
 Particle size < 4 µm [%] ~ 3.6
 D10 [µm]  19.92
 D50 [µm]  66.4
 D90 [µm]  173.1
