Test guideline
- Qualifier:
- equivalent or similar to guideline
- Guideline:
- OECD Guideline 115 (Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions)
- Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Method: Pendant drop, Perstorp A1577 (correlates well to OECD 115), se company report no W09-2478.
A syringe was filled with approximately 10 ml of the solution and was attached to the instrument. The solution was mechanically expelled from the syringe so that it formed a drop on the tip of the needle. This drop was examined optically by the software and 20 images were collected at a rate of 1 image every 3 seconds. The surface tension was calculated by the shape of the drop and the result is expressed as a mean value of the 20 images. - GLP compliance:
- no
- Type of method:
- other: pendant drop
