Description of key information

The surface tension of Phosphoric acid, mono- and di- C16-18 (even numbered) alkyl esters is 60.6 mN/m at 24.7°C and therefore can be considered not to have surface active properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
60.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:

Additional information

The surface tension of Phosphoric acid, mono- and di- C16-18 (even numbered) alkyl esters was examined in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 115, EU-Method A.5 (plate method) and ISO 304 -1985. The mean surface tension of an aqueous solution of 0.02 g/L of the test item was determined to be 60.6 mN/m at 24.7 °C. Because the test item shows a surface tension higher than 60 mN/m, the test item can be considered not to have surface active properties.
