Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on the findings in a fish, early-life stage toxicity test (OECD 210) and the analytical results of the associated solubility study in ISO water, the substance is considered non-hazardous to fish, also following long-term exposure. No mortality/effects on hatchability was observed up to the highest concentration tested (320 µg/L nominal). Reduction of body weight and length of fish was seen at 12.8, 64.0 and 320 µg/L. However, considering the maximum substance solubility of 0.0322 µg/L, being two orders of magnitude lower than the concentrations applied (the analytical method applied in the test quantified the sum of dissolved and particular matter) showing effects, it is obvious that effects seen were attributable to particulate matter affecting fish growth by physical effects rather than toxicological effects. This is also supported by the observations of precipitations made visibly during the study at nominal concentrations of 12.8 µg/L and above.
