3,3'-DDS is a crystalline white to off-white powder with no detectable odor and low relative density equal to 1.4 at 20°C. The diameter of Dapsone particles is from 0.31 µm to 301.68 µm. The value of its melting point was published to be 173 deg C but the substance has no boiling point as it decomposes before reaching it. The vapour pressure was estimated to be < 1.5x10 -3 Pa and the surface tension equal to 73.6 mN/m at 20°C. The substance is not surface active. Log Kow is 0.76 at 25 deg C. Also Dapsone is poorly soluble in water with a water solubility value of 76 mg/L and is soluble in alcohol, methanol, acetone and dilute hydrochloric acid. 3,3'-DDS has no oxidizing properties and is considered "not a self-heating substance" and "not highly flammable" and has no explosive properties.

Two dissociation constants were calculated for a basic group in the molecular structure of the 3,3'-DDS and are equal to 3.10 and 2.18.
