Description of key information

Key study: OECD guideline 105 and EU method A.6. GLP study.


 


The test substance is miscible with distilled water even in  ratio 1:1 (1kg in 1 L of water) giving, at 20 ºC, 520 g of test item/ liter of solution and TOC value of 370 g per liter of the solution. This solution underwent, in less than one day, the deposition process resulting in gel form. The content of the test item greater or equal than 500 g/l of water resulted in the solid phase deposition and subsequent gel formation at the bottoms of the vials.


 


The stable solutions were obtained only for low test item contents: the solutions containing no more than 1 g of test item per 1 L of water were homogenous and  transparent during 40 day observations.


 


All the formed gels did not display thixotropy - did not become fluid when were agitated, but they broke into fine pieces.
