Hydrocarbons, C15-C19, n-alkanes, isoalkanes <2% aromatics has been tested in an OECD 301F (manometric respirometry) test conducted in compliance with GLP (Best, 2014). The test substance attained 73% biodegradation in 28 days and was therefore considered to be readily biodegradable. The result is considered to be reliable and selected as key study.

The key study is supported by ready biodegradation data for members of the Category "Hydrocarbons, C14 -C20, aliphatics (<2% aromatics). The members of this category were found to be readily biodegradable (O2 consumption 82% in 24 days) using an OECD 301F study, as well as in an OECD 306 ready biodegradability in seawater test (biodegradation >60% ThOD).
