PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The registered substance is readily biodegradable therefore does not meet the criterion for persistence (P).

Based on read-across approaches, no acute effects were observed on the three aquatic trophic levels up to the solubility limit of the test substance. In addition, the registered substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction and there is no evidence of chronic toxicity, therefore does not meet the criterion for toxicity (T)

Regarding the bioaccumulation potential, the bioconcentration factor (BCF) is not available and not required for the tonnage band but the log octanol-water partition coefficient of the registered substance is determined by read-across to be greater than 4.5. Therefore, in the absence of other data on the bioaccumulation potential of the registered substance or analogues, the substance is potentially B/vB according to PBT criteria.

However, as the registered substance is not considered Persistent and Toxic, there is no concern of PBT or vPvB potential.
