Oxidising properties:

Additional information

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering the oxidizing properties ofAspartic acid, N-(3-carboxy-1-oxo-sulfopropyl)-N-(C16-18 (even numbered), C18 unsaturated alkyl) tetrasodium salts were determined according to EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids)). Prior to testing the test material was grinded and mixed with cellulose. The mixtures of 10 to 30 % sample : cellulose exhibited a very slow combustion in all cases. After 5 minutes and a distance of up to 30 mm the test was aborted. The sample mixtures of 40 to 90 % sample : cellulose showed no progression of the flame after igniting and an immediate extinction of the flame.

Therefore it can be concluded the test item has no oxidizing properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item has no oxidizing properties according to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) 440/2008, method A.16.
