Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The adsorption coefficient (Koc) of Cyclohexane, 5-isocyanato-1-(isocyanatomethyl)-1,3,3-trimethyl-, homopolymer, caprolactam-blocked on soil and on sewage sludge was determined in a GLP study with the HPLC method according to OECD TG 121 (2001) and EC method C. 19 (2008). The result was Koc = 1258925 (log Koc = 6.1) for soil and Koc = 3981071 (log koc = 6.6) for sewage sludge. This is "very high" adsorption potential (Koc > 10000) on the Blume scale.

Additional information

The HPLC signal of the test item is tentatively assigned to the blocked trimer, which is the lowest molecular weight species as well as the predominant species in the test substance. It is expected that higher oligomers elute later or not at all under the test conditions, corresponding to a higher adsorption potential. No further signal could be observed up to approximately 2.5 times the elution time of this signal.
