Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Additional information

The substance (gamma-)nonalactone is a colourless and fluid liquid, less dense than water. It is soluble in water, with low vapour pressure, which suggests low tendency for volatilisation. It is not expected to be surface active, and will not dissociate under environmental conditions. Potential for bioaccumulation in organisms should be low.

It is not considered as hazardous with regard to physical hazards (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties) according to both DSD and CLP criteria.
