Justification for classification or non-classification

Overall, the weight of evidence suggests that the main constituents of soybean oil, deodorizer distillates will have low acute toxicity after oral and dermal exposure, with LD50s above 2,000 mg/kg bw. This is in line with their long history of safe use ina wide range of nutritional (food and feed), cosmetic and/or industrial applications.

Exposure via the inhalation route is not expected given the low vapour pressure of the substance and the non-homogenous liquid to semi-solid form.

Based on the above information, the substance is not considered to require classification for acute toxicity according to Directive 67/548/EC or Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
