Two DSC-measurements in closed glass crucibles showed no exothermal effects in the temperature range of 25 - 230 °C only an endothermal effect in the temperature range of 185 -225°C and 130 - 210°C, respectively, was observed. Due to the high pressure in the glass crucible, possibly caused by an evaporation of the test item, the measurement had to be stopped at 230 °C to avoid a burst of the glass crucible.

Therefore additional DSC measurements in closed stainless steel crucible were performed.

The DSC-measurements in closed stainless steel crucibles showed an exothermal effect in the temperature range 170-395 °C with an energy of 2005 J/g and 2751 J/g, respectively.

Additional DSC-measurements in closed glass crucibles in stainless steel crucibles showed a small endothermal effect in the temperature range of 220-240°C and an exothermal effect in the temperature range 285-390 °C with an energy of 1964 J/g and 2097 J/g, respectively.

Due to the exothermal effects in closed stainless steel crucibles and in closed glass crucibles in stainless steel crucibles a reaction of the test item with the material of the crucible can not be excluded.
