Phototransformation in air– Indirect photolysis study indicated an estimated half-life of 60 years in air.

Hydrolysis: Under the conditions of a water solubility study, the hydrolysis half-life calculated from the headspace data of HFPO was 58 hours at ambient temperature. The test substance undergoes significant hydrolysis to form 2,2-dihydroxytrifluoropropionic acid and HF.
