Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

readily biodegradable

Additional information

The test substance was assessed for ready biodegradation according to OECD guideline 301B using sealed vessels and was found to be readily biodegradable. Degradation reached 65.5 % on day 28 and the 10-day window was fulfilled.

In two supporting studies high levels of degradation were also achieved within 28 days: 58% in an OECD 301F ready test and 83% in an OECD 302C inherent test. In the supporting ready biodegradability test the pass criterion of 60% within 28 days was not quite reached but was achieved by day 30 and was exceeded in the toxicity text (co-metabolism with aniline).

Realising that ready biodegradability tests may sometimes fail because of the stringent test conditions, it is generally accepted that positive test results supersede negative test results. Thus Cyclamen Aldehyde is regarded as readily biodegradable based on the key study.
