Conclusion on classification

Reaction mass of potassium methylsiliconate should not be classified in the EU for acute or chronic ecotoxicity on the grounds that appropriate read-across data indicates that it is not toxic at an initial loading rate of 100 mg/l. Methylsilanetriol, and the dimer and trimer formed from condensation reactions, have predicted low log Kow values (<<0), which indicates that the classification R53 should not apply.
