Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
No toxic effects occur at the range of the substances solubility.
EC50 (48h) > 1 mg/L (nominal) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Since no data of acute toxicity on daphnia for the described pigment are available, a read-across to a similar pigment (CAS 81-77-6) is used to cover this endpoint. The acute toxicity on the waterflea Daphnia magna was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 202 [DR. U. NOACK-LABORATORIEN, 2012]. Based on the low water solubility of the test item a saturated stock solution was prepared and the test was conducted as limit test with a nominal concentration of 1 mg/L. No effects on the mobility of daphnia up to the saturation limit in the test media were observed after 48 hours of exposure.
