Description of key information

Hardly combustible upon ignition.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Flammability upon ignition derived from flash point.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as pyrophoric as the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as a substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases as the substance is known to be soluble in water to form a stable mixture.

The substance or mixture does not to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the classification and labeling criteria of EU CLP and 67/548/EEC a liquid with a flash point <= 60/55 °C shall be classified as flammable liquid. The substance is a non flammable liquid.
