Preliminary test

The preliminary screening test shows propagation over the cone within 3 minutes and 24 seconds. Therefore the full test was carried out.

 

Train test

The mixtures in the range of 10 to 40 % sample / cellulose exposed no combustion. The flame ceased within 10 seconds after removing the gas burner.

The mixture of 50 % sample / cellulose showed a slow propagation of the flame. It reached 4 cm within 200 seconds. After this distance the flame ceased.

Only the mixtures containing 60 to 90 % sample / cellulose showed a very slow combustion over the whole distance. The fastest propagation of the flame was 402 seconds.

In the Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering (2012) the oxidizing properties of Sodium dicyclohexyl sulfosuccinate were determined according to EU test guideline A.17. Since the burning rate of the test item was significantly shorter than the burning rate of the reference material, the test item has no oxidizing properties according to the definition in the Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008EEC.
