Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Experimental data on the toxicity of the substance to terrestrial arthropods are not available. However, a transfer of the substance to the terrestrial environment is considered unlikely since the substance is readily biodegradable and thus is expected to be extensively removed in sewage treatment plants. In case of a transfer the substance is expected to be rapidly degraded in soils and a chronic exposure of terrestrial organisms is not anticipated.
For the exposure assessment of the substance a PNEC soil was calculated using the Equilibrium Partitioning Method (EPM) approach according to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7.c (ECHA, 2012). The Risk Characterization Ratio (i.e. PEC/PNEC ratio) calculated for the terrestrial compartment was < 1. Thus, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, section 3 further toxicity testing on terrestrial arthropods is not proposed.
