EC number: 203-537-0 | CAS number: 107-96-0
Experimental data on the toxicity of the substance to soil macroorganisms are not available. However, a transfer of the substance to the terrestrial environment is considered unlikely since the substance is readily biodegradable and thus is expected to be extensively removed in sewage treatment plants. In case of a transfer the substance is expected to be rapidly degraded in soils and a chronic exposure of terrestrial organisms is not anticipated. For the exposure assessment of the substance a PNEC soil was calculated using the Equilibrium Partitioning Method (EPM) approach according to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7.c (ECHA, 2012). The Risk Characterization Ratio (i.e. PEC/PNEC ratio) calculated for the terrestrial compartment was < 1. Thus, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, section 3 further toxicity testing on soil macroorganisms is not proposed.
