Additional information

The study performed in experimental laboratory (Petersen, 2004, UNA), dedicated to estimate the flash point of the test material 3 -Mercaptopropionsäure, has been chosen as a key study. The flash point has been determined to be 124.5 °C (mean value from two determinations at pressure ~102.45 kPa) by using Pensky-Martens closed cup method according to method DIN EN ISO 2719:2002 (Determination of flash point - Pensky-Martens closed cup method).

The other available supporting study (Rampy, 1973, Dow) reports the flash point to be greater than 98.33 °C. The information given in supporting study qualitatively supports the key study.
