Readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria: 81.2% after 29 days based on CO2 evolution (OECD 301 B).

One GLP-compliant biodegradability study is available for fatty acids, C16 -18 (even numbered), aluminum salts (Peter Greven, 2012). The test was performed according to OECD guideline 301 B. Activated, non-adapted, domestic, sludge from the municipal wastewater treatment was used as inoculum and the initial concentration of the substance was 20 mg/L as organic carbon. Biodegradation measured as CO2 evolution reached 81.2% after 28 days and passed a 10-day window. It can be concluded that fatty acids, C16-18 (even numbered), aluminum salts, are readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
