Description of key information

During 28 days, the biodegradation of Rhodiastab 55 at an initial concentration of 0.036 mg/L was studied according to OECD guideline 301 B.
Inoculum used in the test was an activated sludge at a concentration of 30 mg/L obtained with domestic sample fromWareham Wastewater Treatment Plant,Wareham,Massachusetts.
The corresponding percentage of biodegradation obtained after 28 days was 61.5% under CO2 evolved.
Reference material (sodium acetate) validates the test since its biodegradation was greater than 60 % at 14 days (73.6%).
Under the test conditions Rhodiastab 55 is considered as readily biodegradable.
