Description of key information

Persistency can not be excluded

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the biodegradation of the substance in soil are available. The results from the ready biodegradability test (27.5-41.1% after 28 days) show that a certain degree of biodegradation of this substance in the environment can be expected. Nevertheless, as a worst-case approach, persistency of Fatty acids, C18 unsaturated, trimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 173832-46-7) cannot be excluded. An OECD 222 (Earthworm Reproduction test) is proposed as a good representation of the hazard of Fatty acids, C18 unsaturated, trimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters to terrestrial organisms. The dossier will be updated as soon as possible and the Chemical Safety Assessment according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 will be re-evaluated based on the outcome of the new study.
