First-aid measures

Symptoms and effects
Irritating to eyes and skin.
In case of inadequate first-aid measures there is a possibility of persistent effects on the eye.
First aid
Seek for medical attention in case of persistent irritation, discomfort or any other severe trouble.
Bring patient to fresh air. Seek medical advice.
Remove contaminated clothing. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water.
Launder clothes before reuse.
Rinse immediately and as long as possible with plenty of water. Eyelids should be held away from
the eyeball to ensure thorough rinsing.
Rinse mouth with water. DO NOT DRINK. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING because of risk of aspiration.
Seek medical advice.
Advice to physician: Symptomatic treatment is advised.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media Special exposure hazards
All extinguishing measures are allowed but avoid high-pressure water jets None known
if foam has to be avoided.
Hazardous decomposition / combustion products
Material is not classified as flammable. However, if involved in a fire, it will feed the fire and give off toxic fumes of
sulphur dioxide/trioxide and carbon monoxide/dioxide.
Protective equipment
Use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow to escape into sewage system or watercourses.
Methods for cleaning up
Collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferable) reuse or disposal.
Do not flush into public watercourses.

Handling and storage

Avoid contact with skin and eyes; avoid dust inhalation.
Slippery in case of spillage on wet floor.
Fire and explosion prevention
Dusts are highly flammable and can generate explosions in not well-ventilated rooms.
Avoid electrostatic discharges. Do not allow smoking in areas where product is made or handled.
Storage requirements
Store in closed containers. Storage temperature: 0-50°C. Store away from strong oxidising agents.
Avoid mild steel and aluminium storage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering controls : The general precautionary measures for handling chemicals should be observed.
Exposure limits : No exposure limit has been established.
Personal protection
§ Respiratory : Wear dust mask.
§ Hand : Wear suitable gloves
§ Eye : Wear eye/face protection.
Eye rinsing device shall be made available at any point of handling of the product
§ Skin and body : Wear appropriate clothing, slipproof shoes. Remove and clean contaminated clothes.
Do not allow eating and drinking in areas where product is made or handled.
Environment protection : Containment measures should be taken at any storage place to avoid large quantity
of product to enter watercourses or ground.

Stability and reactivity

No decomposition if stored and handled properly.
Conditions to avoid Material to avoid
Temperatures in excess of 50°C.
Material to avoid
Strong oxidising agents.
Hazardous decomposition products
No decomposition occurs under normal storage conditions.

Disposal considerations

According to local regulations (most probably controlled incineration)
Contaminated packaging
According to local regulations. Empty drums or containers can be washed out for reuse; do not allow washing
water to enter into watercourses.
