Additional information

Sodium capryliminodipropionate is very well soluble in water and is expected to have a low bioaccumulation potential (log Kow of 1.53). According to EUSES the BCF is predicted as 3.99 L/kg wetweight.

For sodium capryliminodipropionate acute ecotoxicity data are available for algae, Daphnia, fish and micro-organisms. Long term toxicity data are available for Daphnia and algae. An overview of the most relevant results is presented in the table.

No statistical significant effects were observed in the tests. Therefore all values have been reported as > values.

According to Annex IX, 9.1.6 to the REACH Regulation long-term toxicity testing with fish shall be proposed only if the CSA indicates the need to investigate further the effects on aquatic organisms. However, as the CSA does not indicate the need for further testing of vertebrates and taking into consideration the low bioaccumulative potential, long-term toxicity testing with fish is waived.
