Hydrolysis and biodegradation are not likely to play a significant role in the degradation of this test substance in the environment. The dominant loss process is reaction with OH in the troposphere. The atmospheric lifetime of the test substance was reported to be 23 years. Detailed atmospheric degradation pathways for the test substance do not appear to have been elucidated. However, the expected main degradation pathway in the environment is reaction with tropospheric hydroxyl radicals, which abstract hydrogen.
