Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
Under COLUMN 2 “SPECIFIC RULES FOR ADAPTATION FROM COLUMN 1” in REACH Annex VII (7.13), it states the study does not need to be conducted if "the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure”. Accordingly the structure of the test item was assessed for chemical groups that would imply oxidising properties. Examples of such groups are nitrates, metal oxides, hypofluorites, difluoroaminopolynitroaryls, perchlorates, bromates and iodites.
A prediction was undertaken using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A17 Oxidising Properties (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)

There are no structural alerts within the chemical structure of the test item.

Interpretation of results:
other: Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
Conclusions:
Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.
Executive summary:

Method

Results

There are no structural alerts within the chemical structure of the test item.

Conclusions

Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.

Description of key information

Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The prediction was undertaken using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A17 Oxidising Properties (Solids) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

There are no structural alerts within the chemical structure of the test item.

Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There are no groups within the structure that would imply oxidising properties and therefore based on the chemical structure the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative.

The substance is therefore unclassified for oxidising properties.
