Additional information

The only current use of “Fatty acids, C16-18 (even numbered) (linear and branched) and C18 unsatd. (linear and branched), reaction products with diethanolamine”, is as a petroleum additive, which is blended into gasoline at industrial sites at a percentage < 0.1%. The finished fuel is supplied to gasoline filling stations, and is ultimately burnt in the engine. As all the manufacturing, transfer and other processes carried out while the substance is in a concentrated form take place at bunded and regulated industrial sites, it is highly unlikely that significant release to the aquatic environment will occur.
