Additional information

The environmental stability of Choline chloride is not assessed experimentally. Concerning phototransformation in different compartments (i.e. air, soil and water) no information is available and represent no mandatory requirement for a registration under REACH.

Choline chloride was found to be readily biodegradable (BASF AG, 1984), therefore, in accordance to REACH, Annex VIII, Section 9.2.2.1, column 2, no experimental investigation for hydrolysis is triggered. Furthermore, the substance possesses no capable functional groups for a hydrolytical reaction.
